Doyle Drive is open to motorists! The seismically safe, temporary bypass will carry traffic until the Presidio Parkway is completed in 2015. Please travel carefully as drivers adjust to the new roadway.

Demolition Weekend Overview

In order to transfer traffic onto a seismically-safe temporary bypass, Doyle Drive was closed for one weekend, April 27-30, 2012. Crews worked around the clock for 57 hours to demolish the aging roadway and prepare a new route, comprised of the completed high viaduct, battery tunnel, and temporary bypass.
