Ramp Closures
Two local ramps connecting Doyle Drive to Park Presidio/Highway 1 will be closed during the timeframes listed below.
The ramp from Northbound Doyle Drive to Southbound Park Presidio/Hwy 1 is now closed through 2013.
The ramp from Northbound Park Presidio/Hwy 1 to Southbound Doyle Drive is now closed through 2011.

These ramp closures do not affect regional traffic coming from or going to the Golden Gate Bridge. The ramps serve a low volume of traffic and are primarily used by San Francisco residents traveling between the Richmond/Sunset neighborhoods and the Marina/Cow Hollow neighborhoods. The vehicles who typically use these ramps will be dispersed throughout the city street network. Traffic between Marin County, San Francisco and San Mateo County will continue to move unimpeded.
Route Scenarios
Marin to San Francisco International Airport
There will be no impact to traffic coming from or going to the Golden Gate Bridge. Traffic from Marin to Park Presidio/Highway 1 and to the San Francisco International Airport will continue to move unimpeded.
Marin to Downtown San Francisco
There will be no impact to traffic coming from or going to the Golden Gate Bridge to downtown San Francisco. Traffic from Marin to southbound Doyle Drive will continue to move unimpeded.
Marina to Richmond
The ramp that connects Northbound Doyle Drive to Southbound Park Presidio/Hwy 1 will be closed until 2013. Motorists that use this route are advised to select an alternate route within the city street network.
For drivers unfamiliar with the area, an official detour will be marked with signage and will direct drivers to Geary Boulevard/Van Ness Avenue/Lombard Street. Drivers who miss the signed detour and arrive at the closed ramp will be directed to use the "last chance detour" from northbound Doyle Drive to the Merchant Road off-ramp to Lincoln Boulevard, to the Merchant Road on-ramp to southbound Doyle Drive.
Richmond to Marina
The ramp that connects northbound Park Presidio/Hwy 1 to southbound Doyle Drive will be closed until 2011. Motorists that use this route can either select an alternate route within the city street network or use the "last chance detour"; this will entail proceeding northbound on Doyle Drive to the signed detour via the Merchant Road off-ramp to Lincoln Boulevard, to the Merchant Road on-ramp to southbound Doyle Drive.
