One hundred percent of tree material removed during the preconstruction activity was recycled or salvaged by Green Waste Recycle Yard in Richmond, California.
More than 50 native plant species, for a total of 45,000 plants, were collected in the Presidio prior to construction and are now being grown in the Presidio Nursery.

Including a temporary bypass in the construction phasing reduced the construction duration by nearly two years.

PHASE I: December 2009 - Spring 2012

Phase I was completed on April 30, 2012 when Doyle Drive traffic was transferred onto a temporary bypass and the completed southbound structures.

PHASE II: 2012 - 2015

Traffic Transferred onto a Temporary Bypass

In April 2012, traffic was shifted onto a bypass next to Doyle Drive with five lanes - wider than those on the existing Doyle Drive - and with opposing traffic separated by a median barrier.

Two Highway 1 ramps are closed: NB Doyle Drive to SB Park Presidio/Hwy 1 and NB Park Presidio/Hwy 1 to SB Doyle Drive. See details about the ramp closures.

Weekend Closure of Doyle Drive

In 2015 there will be a weekend closure of Doyle Drive to transfer traffic from the temporary bypass onto the final Presidio Parkway.

Traffic on the Final Presidio Parkway

In 2015, major construction will be complete and traffic will be on the final Presidio Parkway. Final project activities after this will include removal of the temporary detour and landscaping.
